We sat down with Magia Retreats founder Nicole Rolstad for some quick chat about why she started the company and her goals for Magia Retreats.
A: I first became interested in the industry through my sorority in college. I oversaw all the philanthropic and social events that we participated in. It was very rewarding and I found myself enjoying the creative side of events management. I love producing new ideas and designs meant to WOW audiences.
A: My biggest accomplishment would be putting together a CSR event in the Dominican Republic for 1400 people. We assembled 65 mountain bikes for an organization that aims to end generational poverty by supporting the education of the young girls in the community.
I am also proud of earning my MBA while working full time at a luxury event venue in Newport, Rhode Island.
A: When I was traveling in Venice and Rome, I was amazed at the hospitality I received. The people I encountered there opened my eyes to the beauty of travel. I can only find one word to describe the experience of meeting new people and visiting new places – MAGICAL. That feeling inspired me to create MAGIA RETREATS. I want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the ultimate beauty the world has to offer. I want to share my expertise and love for magical travel experiences with those who don’t know where to start.
Have you ever went to a location, stood back and said “wow, this is magical”? Well, I have. And that’s the experience I want to share.
A: My father, who was my best friend and favorite travel buddy, loved adventure and the wonderment of travel. While he didn’t have the finances to travel the world, he still found ways to quench his thirst for experience. His last wish before he passed away was that I take my passion and knowledge of travel and create my own company. So here I am in all my excitement, ready to create the magic I know exists in this world with you!
A: We anticipate the needs of the attendees and keep those in the center of our planning. We approach each project by first establishing your short and long term goals, considering future and current market trends and then providing a comprehensive plan to address your needs. We align our industry expertise with your team’s skills.
We know you can’t find everything on the Internet. Some well-reviewed places may not turn out the way you expected them to be. When we plan retreats, we consider the unique and hidden gem experiences that will make the event memorable and magical. We are able to do this because of our extensive travel experience.
A: I also offer hospitality consultancy services for boutique hotels, resorts and B&Bs. I can guide them on how to position their establishments to cater to what planners are looking for and how to stand out from competition. My years as an internal planner for two large international companies coupled with my vast background in hospitality experience and MBA has opened my eyes to how the wide range of services these establishments can offer in order to create these magical travel experiences. My history of staying at boutique hotels all over the world also validated my expertise.
A: I offer every single client my customized and personalized approach based on my extensive knowledge and expertise. I make sure that your event will stand out and WOW your attendees.
